  • Can someone help me value this USA Rhoads?

    Greetings,

I'd really appreciate it if I could get some idea what my '91 or '92 US Rhoads should fetch if I decide to trade with a local music shop, or if I decide to post it on E-bay or the like. It's not being played anymore and the time has come for me to let someone else enjoy it.

I posted the pics a couple of years back and got some very useful info, but can't find the thread anymore.

I was informed that it is a custom shop, rear-routed Rhoads with black metallic paint, black hardware, active Jackson pickups, preamp, and Floyd Rose. It's serial number is RR-25xx (I can't remember exactly).

The condition is excellent, with only the tiniest of chips on the upper wing tip. Original (huge) case. The only thing that is not stock are the strap locks.

    Thanks for any information.

Thanks for all the smart-assed comments. I thought my description was pretty accurate and didn't need pics for a 'ball-park' estimate. $400, yeah right.

Dude it's a little joke between the community, stick around for awhile and you might find out about it

But seriously we get annoyed when we're always asked to value guitars when other people could easily go up on ebay and look at all the others and rough up an average through that or even just call up GC or wherever and ask them, we're here to give you information on the guitars, not to help you make yourself a bit of money.

He's been a member for 4 years and he hasn't really contributed at all, I fail to see how that is sticking around, more like let's just use them as a last resort for valuing my Jacksons, so it's not really sticking around, because if you were to stick around then you would have to actually contribute or at least lurk, which with the amount Racers $400 remark used to go around he obviously hasn't done.

I paid 1100 for a 1990 rear loaded Rhoads custom.
Popular is not the same as good
Rare is not the same as valuable
Worth is what someone will pay, not what you want to get

It does not have active Jackson pickups, because Jackson never made actives. It has active electronics that'll work with any passive pickup, but you'll have to tell us what it does. Is it a midboost, wah sweep or the preamp with the three dip switches to change bass, middle, treble?

Don't you think I've done all of that? I've never seen a rear-routed Rhoads on E-bay or Gbase. Guitar Center told me that Jackson never made rear-routed RR's and it must be a fake. I thought I would seek some 'friendly' advice from the 'experts' on this forum. Information was exactly what I was seeking; I'm not asking you to buy the damn thing after all. Please accept my sincere apologies for annoying all of you and 'not contributing' anything.

AFAIK there has not been a rear-routed Rhoads as a production model, but that does not eschew the custom shop.
