I looked around and #158 is listed as the first soloist, his must have another number he can't see. Maybe J095?Charvel 7308 (TMZ 008), Charvel Pro-mod (yellow), Jackson Soloist Custom (Yellow), Jackson SL2H-V Natural, Gibson LPS DB, Gibson LPS EB, Gibson LPCC C, Charvel Model 2 (scalloped), Jackson DK2M (white), Charvel Journeyman, Fender Classic Player 60's strat, Carvin C66, Musikraft strat mutt, Warmoth Strat mutt, Fender MIM Jazz bass, Epiphone Classical, Takamine parlor. Serial #'s before 158 were called custom strats or neck-through body strats. I have J0118. His probably has another 0, J0095. Before 158 they followed no real standard. By 158 a basic spec outline was used as a default unless the customer specified different. Cannot tell you a value. Does he want to sell? Thanks

He is selling a lot of stuff but the Soloist and the Charvel he asked me about. On the build chart it looks like j0951 is a red soloist so that may be it. I sent him a request for pics.Charvel 7308 (TMZ 008), Charvel Pro-mod (yellow), Jackson Soloist Custom (Yellow), Jackson SL2H-V Natural, Gibson LPS DB, Gibson LPS EB, Gibson LPCC C, Charvel Model 2 (scalloped), Jackson DK2M (white), Charvel Journeyman, Fender Classic Player 60's strat, Carvin C66, Musikraft strat mutt, Warmoth Strat mutt, Fender MIM Jazz bass, Epiphone Classical, Takamine parlor. If you're looking at the early log scans, a lot of the Soloists are listed as "Strat". J0095 is listed as White w/ plat (which I think is pearl or metallic), Strat, 3 tite w/ Kahler. What is the pickup config on your friend's guitar? I think on both of your friend's guitars, the scallop jobs are going to be a major wild card, value-wise.
-edit- Sorry! I wrote that out before seeing the last couple of posts, got called away, came back & hit enter.Last edited by dg; 03-17-2010, 10:33 AM.

Just got off the phone, all he can see is j095, not two 0's so I'm thinking j0951. He was at NAMM in 85 or 86 and this Jackson was played by Vai at the show. He said he has desided to keep it after playing it at a recent gig, he says it just plays too good.Charvel 7308 (TMZ 008), Charvel Pro-mod (yellow), Jackson Soloist Custom (Yellow), Jackson SL2H-V Natural, Gibson LPS DB, Gibson LPS EB, Gibson LPCC C, Charvel Model 2 (scalloped), Jackson DK2M (white), Charvel Journeyman, Fender Classic Player 60's strat, Carvin C66, Musikraft strat mutt, Warmoth Strat mutt, Fender MIM Jazz bass, Epiphone Classical, Takamine parlor.
