  • USA Jackson #1499

    Finally I got this one.
A friend of mine called me and said hey whats this worth? He was at a pawn shop in town.He was telling me about it and I knew guitar in question.
He was going to get it and put some money down on it to hold it.I told him I wanted it because I knew the original owner and its history.
The pawn shop wouldn't hold it for him when I called him back(I was on my way there)so he said if you want it buy it so I did.
Here's the history W/O #8800 the original owner(another friend)ordered it in 85 along with an 85 Charvel (5490 second to last Charvel USA. in gallery BTW).
He used both guitars on tour opening for Deep Purple in 86.
1499 was originally a real snake skin with a Kahler. He wore out the snake skin and refined it in 87 with comics out of the newspaper.
Beetle Bailey,Peanuts,Garfield and Ziggy.Found a copyright from 87 under one of the comic frames.
The pickup is a Tom Anderson made for him its an H-1.
He had Sammy Sanchez in L.A. remove the Kahler and install an OFR in 86.
Totally rippin guitar plays like a dream and has tone out the wazoo, history and loads of mojo.

          Cool history!
Glad you scored this sweet guitar.
Nice to have these in the family.

No way I was going to let this one get away that's for sure.It had to stay in the family.
I noticed there was no up pull to the trem and flipped it over, no block then noticed Sammy had placed a flat head screw on the bass side screwed into the cavity to keep it in tune if a string broke.
Never thought to do that to block a trem works great tho'.

Its one of those guitars that feels so damn good to play you can't put it down.
Action is crazy low too,no fret buzz anywhere.
The neck is perfect like an old SD Charvel, smooth and fast.
I guess being made around the same as the last Charvels were coming out its essentially a Charvel with a Jackson logo.
