  • Kellys and EMG's...

Hi all, I'm toying with the idea of putting EMG's in my KE2 when it gets here next week. Anybody have any problems fitting EMG's in the pickup cavities on KE2's? Not sure I will do this, just thinking about it.

They are a tight squeeze, I had to push mine in with a little force. Same goes with any covered pickup.

Worse case scenario is that you would have to scrape at the corners in the pickup cavities of the guitar. No biggie.

Like the others said, just cut a little bit of wood out of the corners of the cavities to make them fit.

I use a cordless drill with about a 3/8" hi speed steel bit and just rub the side of the bit against the 4 corners of the cavities. The spiral sides of the bit are sharp enough to slowly eat away at the wood without grabing bigger chunks.
