ive got an old japanese pbass by squier and it is solid as hell. its got old emg's and a badass II bridge and best of all it was free from my dad cause he wasnt using it! if you see one of these old ones laying around im sure it will be super cheap and a decent bass to mess around with.

spector ns series ( even korean !) are a good way to go.

It's a pretty nice bass. Long scale, so the low B rings nice.

I have the four string model of that same bass. Its a very nice bass and great value. The "zero" fret really makes it a damn good purchase. I think I am going to try to sell it though, since the band I play bass in needs that low B.
