  • Model Series Bridge

Searcing for resources to pick up a bridge saddle for a model 4B bass. It has the standard Jackson bridge for that era.

I highly doubt you'll find just 1, it's easier to just buy a bass for parts unless someone has one on ebay, they just don't come around already parted too often.

I haven't been looking long. There has only been one I have seen on the Bay, and it was being sold by a super over priced dealer who parts stuff out. Is the same bridge used on Model 1-4 basses. It looks like the same bridge. I could buy a Model 1B for the price the aforementioned dealer wanted for a bridge, in used condition. If I did, I probably woudn't want to part out the 1B after getting it. I was thinking, perhaps someone known on the site, dealt parts or made reproductions. I found one guy, thanks to this site, to get new, repro. guitar stuff. Cover plates and that sort of thing.

ya the overpriced idiot is alienxnation, no sain person is gonna pay 225 for a bridge when they can buy a whole bass for less but he can charge what he wants, none of us would touch his stuff for those prices. l understand about the "I'll buy that red 1b and use it for parts, but I'd rather keep it" attitude. If I bought it, I'd use the bridge, pickup and knobs as parts and sell the body...( but I have almost 2dozen basses )lol

BUT, repro bridges? theres a few of them out there with the 5 in a row holes minus the 4 holes in the front, and they will fit but you will get a round saddle with the slots, not the square saddles with the tabs that stick down. The gotoh 201 would work, but it don't say Jackson on it..lol

also if you buy a 1b you now have a maple FB to mess around with, just like I did to one of my model 2's cause I wanted a pair of black and maples

        .
i saw your other thread about the stuck screw in the saddle, if you didnt already strip the allen threads, soak it in wd40, unless it is so bad, it will come loose.

I soaked it, put it in the freezer. Tried all kinds of shit. I got frustrated and filed the bottom of the adjustment screw down smooth, to shorten it. That worked, but I would still like to have a replacement. I'm actually a guitar player that has on occasion gigged on bass. I bought a black 3B and and a dark red 4B. I love the maple necks! I've been watching a couple Model 1B's on the Bay. I just bought a Model 1 guitar because I liked the maple neck. I have 5 Model 4's, a 3a, and a Model 5FX in addition to the two basses. Time to get playing.

I bid on a 1B on the Bay. I need to take a break from buying new stuff. I just found and bought a 1986 Model 6, in super shape, with hard case. Non logo pickups. $525. I thought it was a good deal and couldn't pass it up. I'll still keep on the look out for a Jackson bass bridge.

For the most part, I like to keep things stock and work with it. I'm not going to rape the bridge off of it. It might be a sweet P Bass. I really like the maple neck. The seller hasn't confirmed my payment yet.

Does the stock pickup have a decent tone? I just found a black 1B online for $199. No case.
