hey Zsrinn, there's a yellow CMG on MGR.com this week:
I would buy it but I already have a blue one.

I don't know whats going on with that switch in place of the knob, but for that price who cares if everything else is perfect on it.

it looks like more sellers are selling the new CBX ( formerly called the CMG )....lol

                for 399.95 free-ship, ya it's worth it.
TOO BAD for all the people trying to get more for their old CMG's though....

I assume some has wired the pickups like a Les Paul instead of having the dual blend pot on the MGR unit..
It's way more versitile with the blend IMO but some want something different or the pots needed cleaning & they didn't know how so they replaced it with a common LP/SG switch..

thats funny because I take all the switches out and replace them with pots because I hate the on-on-on setup and like to just slightly blend the J ( or in my case the HB ) into the mix not just all or nothing

Hi. i have a cmg and, since last week, a new cbx. At first look they are the same, but there are some differences here and there, the main one is about the neck shape and nut width.
In comparison the cbx has a wider nut, it's like comparing a precision to a jazz. The neck shape is also different, the new cbx is flatter, while cmg has a more rounded and thick neck.
I find the new cbx being more close to the old professional series basses than the cmg regarding the neck.
The preamp: it is not an emg as it was in the cmg, but pickups are the same emg hz. No complaints about that, it works just fine and it's really good for the price.
Overall impression is that it is very well built, lighter than the cmg (good!), and costs half the price too!

I'm glad Dagon did his review. And he is right, my CMG neck is slightly different than my model2, not as flat.

I'm hoping in 2013 they will have a lefty option ( haha I can dream right? )

I just got a CBX and yeah, same neck as my Concert V.Definitely lighter as well. Not digging the circuit, but the pickups are ok. Might replace them, not sure yet. While the bridge is generic, the string spacing is more narrow than my C5P.
