  • My KE3 has arrived, in all it's glory

It arrived Monday, my brother called me at work to let me know; which just made the day seem longer. So, I got home and as soon as I opened the case I was smiling ear to ear. The gratification of finally getting the guitar I've wanted for so long was amazing.

I wasn't sold on it's playability though, I'm an Ibanez "convert" so to speak, and over there we generally believe that Ibanez have the best necks. I played it for about 6 hours straight, it was in tune right out of the case having made the trip from Cali. The neck is this thing is amazing, so very perfect. It sounds different than any guitar I've played before, and the action is nice and low. The thing plays so well, it seems to make me a better player.

The only thing I'm kind of undecided on is the trem. It's got those really small fine tuners so they are hard to turn. It holds tune reasonably well, I can do a few things with the bar before I have to start tuning again. Overall, the initial opinion I have of it is that I love it. I'll give it some time and see how it grows on me.

Would you guys advise a trem upgrade, or do is this one a nice solid trem? If a trem upgrade is a good idea, what trem do I upgrade to? Thanks again!

BTW: my apologies for the typo in the thread title.

What trem you can upgrade to depends on the route. If the recess is long enough for an OFR, go with that. If it's too short for an OFR, get the Schaller which has shorter string-lock screws (under the fine tuners).
I want to depart this world the same way I arrived; screaming and covered in someone else's blood

The most human thing we can do is comfort the afflicted and afflict the comfortable.

Really small fine tuners? How big are your hands?
