  • SD Blade Humbuckers?

    Would this WRXT have active's or passives? No battery in the rear chamber but it looks like there may have been 9V battery connectors at one time. I believe it is a 2001 build date and from the S/D site it looks like they are HB-104's, right? Now a question out of sheer ignorance....if these are passives can actives be installed in this guitar? I'd like to load it with S/D Blackouts AHB-1N and AHB-2 Metal Bridge. Will there be enough room for the new pots and a 9V?

    Those are passive pickups. You can put active pickups in, as long as there is room in the control cavity for a battery which there should be.

      Here is an easy way to tell if it's active. If it needs a battery to work, it's active.

      If it works without a battery, it's passive.

      Active = needs power

        They're also not Seymour Duncan's. They're Duncan Designed, cheap "versions" of real Duncans.
        Some of them sound pretty good though, so you should try them for a while before changing them.
        As for fitting Blackouts, I don't know how big the cavity is in a Warrior, but I think it should be okay. Take the cover off and see if you can fit a battery in there, with a little extra clearance for the extra wiring - it should be fine I'd think.
        Where the hell is the input jack on that? You need to replace that too remember.
