    Another question: When they have a graphic that is on many guitars, such as the Pile of Skull, how is that graphic applied? I know they hand paint the customs, but I wouldn't think they hand paint all the import models.

    Older DK2 with a discontinued graphic.
    The initial graphic is screened on.

    The one below is a newer model with real SD pups and black hardware.

          Pull off the neck and it should tell you the year it was made there.
