Low Profile Pup for DK2

Alright, so I have had my DK2 for a few days now and I can not stand the middle pickup. Not so much the sound but the thing is too high and I can't adjust it down and I'm getting kind of annoyed constantly hitting the thing with my pick. Is there any low profile pickups out there? I don't want to switch to EMG yet but that's a plan since it won't have the poles sticking up almost to string level.

any ideas, suggestions?

In the future though I need to remember to not buy guitars while on Nyquil
