  • "Duncan Designed" logo...can you get rid of it?

Well, I've been playing the King V quite a lot lately and am really enjoying it! I'm not even minding the Duncan designed pickups...they sound better than I was expecting and I think I'll leave them in there, at least for a while.

What I was wondering is can you easily remove the ugly "Duncan designed" logo from the pickups? For the record, I hate logo's of any kind on pickups and would be asking the same question even if these things said "Seymour Duncan."

Toothpaste, Meguire's Scratch X works great also. With these 2 products you still need some elbow grease. Chemical strippers may melt the plastic bobbins.

I agree. Some sort of polishing compound would do the trick. It's funny, I was considering the same thing. I have a set of Duncan Designed Distortions the just sound SO good. Better than some full fledged Duncans I have. I wanted to take the logos off too. Leaves 'em guessing as to what's in there! Is that too ANAL of me????

I hear some people used tape to strip the logos off.

Steal a little bit of the acetone of your wife/girlfriend/sister
                  and use it with a q-tip ..
                  Don`t make it too wet!...
It should be less than a drop of acetone!
PUT THE ACETONE ON THE Q-TIP NOT ON THE PU`S DIRECTLY!

im going to put my HB-103's (the Distortion copies) into my PRS when i get it refretted just to have something in there. although, if they sound good in it ill keep them in there, take off the logos, and make people wonder

they sounded good in my Dinky, i put my EMGs in there because i was annoyed with the Duncan sound at the time (didnt even like playing my EBMM with a Distortion). but they sounded good and they worked well.
