  • PS1 or PS2?

I have performer series guitar from -95, -96 or -97. In neckplate it sais its PS2 but i have never seen on any catalogue PS2 like mine. My guitar is like PS2, but has vintage style tremolo. I know that PS1 has vintage tremolo, but my guitar dont have pickguard. So its exact like that guitar but black and has vintage tremolo. So is it really PS2?

    Show us what you have.
Truss rod covers can be replaced.
Is it 22 fret or 24?
Sounds like you may have a JS1.

Trussrod cover is original. I bought it new. And it has 24 frets.

        I've owned a PS-2 before and they never came with a v-trem.

All PS-2's had a Floyd type trem.

What I think you have is a very early ps2. I had a ps1 that was 2 humbuckers with a reversed headstock and I could swear that the ps2 was HSS config regular headstock no pickguard made in Korea. Alot of them had crapy glue joints on the neck. I bought mine in early 95. I have never seen mine in any catalogs either and I have seen people on ebay selling the vtrem ones as ps2s. I have a crappy picture of mine at home somewhere.

The early Performer series were the Concepts and they did not have the PS designation on the truss rod cover. They were JRR-94, JDR-94, JSX-94 and JDX-94.
The PS-2 has always had 24 frets and a Floyd and the PS-1 has 22 frets, a v-trem and a pick guard.
The PS-4 was the only reverse headstock of the bunch, and it was H-S-H with a Floyd.

How many frets does your guitar have?

Looks a lot like my old ps2. Mine was korean made 1996 i believe.

This is my ps1 that I bought in 95(blue one). The red one is a JDR 94. The JS series did exist yet I don't think. Sorry for the bad picture.
I remember they came in blue , maroon and black I think.
