Does anyone know about this model? I did not see it listed on the Jackson Stars website.

Actually, if it's on the web the responsible thing to do is link to the page it's on, rather than steal their bandwidth by linking directly to their pic.
Or if you have your own web hosting that allows direct image linking, such as www.freeservers.com , you can host it on your own site.
That way you know the pic will still be there in 6 months when someone digs this thread up from the bottom of the pile
And the older JacksonStars naming convention was related to their cost - the KV-185 cost 185,000 Yen, or roughly $1850 USD, so it was a higher-end model. From what I've seen, the high-end models ranged from the 110-185 area (110,000 Yen to 185,000 Yen) and anything below 110 (maybe 100) was where you found dot inlays, no binding, or MOTO inlays, though mostly they were the bolt-on models and were comparable in features to our Professional models (RR3, DK2, KE3, etc).
Somewhere about halfway between 110 and 185 is where you would start to see features like trans finishes on maple caps and head/neck binding, but usually solid colors without the maple cap and no neck/head binding below that point.
I've got two JacksonStars NASL models - an older NASL-160 in Cherry Sunburst and a newer NASL-J2E in black.I want to depart this world the same way I arrived; screaming and covered in someone else's blood

Good post. THanks.
BTW, ESP Japan puts the original cost of the guitar in their model number. too. I figured that was whats going on with this one.

Is it this one?
The photos show an OFR, which would suggest a higher end model, but the fingerboard looks like it's rosewood.
I've bought a guitar from this shop before. You can probably haggle the price a little bit. I'm not sure if they'll ship overseas though.Until you get weaned off the boobie, you are going to have to do what the wife wants too. -Rsmacker
