Just got a new addition to my slowly growing jackson family its the new upgraded 2006 KE3 in trans black & OMG its amazing ive had it a week now & only played it 3 times as im afraid t get finger marks on it lol I immediatley changed the neck for a mint DMXG one i had from a past project. I wish jackson had included binding on the new models but hey they have done wonders with the new upgrades.

I like the way the SD pups are sounding in this guitar was gonna add my zakk wylde EMG set but i am completely satisfied with the way the guitar sounds right now. I can't really comment on the revised JT580LP as i dont really over use the trem but for now its staying put. I forgot how cool the kelly looked, sounded & played as i was obssesed with the warrior i had.I soon got back the kelly feeling with this addition.

I've even decided to get my old 2002 KE3 body ive kept refinished & upgraded. I would definatley recommend the new 2006 pro guitars as jackson have done there self proud this time! sorry for the lack of pics i'll try & post some tomorrow.

+1... how much did you pay for it? i'm in the midlands and methinks they're trying to rip people off. also, you've swapped the neck for a dxmg. does the neck still dive?

Hey Wilkinsi i paid exactly £449 for it the store had to order it in as they only had the old 2005 models in stock. The DXMG neck is fine it just looks so much better with binding on the neck it really stands out against the trans black finish. Ive never really had any issues with any diving issues on all the kellys ive owned. Gonna borrow a digital camera as my webcam doesnt show the trans black very well so will get the pics up shortly.

fuckers in nottingham wanted £549 for a 2005 eds. pah! i'm not paying that. another in leicester charged £499 for a crimson swirl. these all had chrome hardware, so they're 2005 or earlier. maybe it's just the midlands where they rip us players off? looking forward to the pix. congrats.

Im sure when the new 2006 models get established in all jackson dealers around the country there will be some good deals on the old 2005 stock & it will still work out cheaper to upgrade to the same spec as the 2006 models. I missed out on a 2005 DK2 that was a managers special priced at £219 could have done with the neck alone for my other project. I've always wanted an old stock RR3 but get cold feet due to the fact its only 22 fret & i cant put a DK2 neck on it i just love the look of binding on necks.
