Re: Jackson Stars Translations

It says: Silly American, Jackson Stars for Japan.

I could be wrong though.

I can read Japanese.

Post the URL to the page that you need translated, and I'll post the translation here.

Re: Jackson Stars Translations

I have a translation of the older version of the order form made up.. I think it's the same and just the prices have changed.
It was on my webspace but it got wiped out when my host moved servers without freaking letting me know ahead of time (urgh)
My service is almost up for this year and I'm not renewing so I haven't re-uploaded much of anything.

If anyone wants to host the HTML file of it, let me know and I'll e-mail it to you or something.

I just looked through these forms...
Does anybody know what is the difference between striped ebony and ebony? And what is difference between sharkfins and MOP sharkfins?

I saw pics of a blindvomit's Jackson Stars which has the striped ebony and sharkfins and they look just like an ebony and MOP sharkfins.

Section 2: Neck
Subsection 5: Inlays
Options for fins are Sharkfin pearloid and Sharkfin MOP, as well as reverse fins and black acrylic fins

Striped ebony is just ebony with color variations. Sometimes you get a piece that has nice streaks, sometimes you don't. If you want it jet black, specify ebony. If you just want ebony for the density of it, either one will do. There's no tonal variations.

well, for the one that blindvomit has it just says sharkfin inlays. no mop or pearloid. So i'd like to know difference between pearloid and MOP. Pics look like a MOP though...

If you order jet black (not striped) ebony, you'll have to wait for guitar to be finished in custom shop, right? Or is it possible that they will have striped ebony one that has no streaks?

I'm asking all this cause I'll be ordering one in a few months.

Striped ebony is striped ebony - it's never jet black or else it wouldn't be striped ebony.
I doubt you'd have much of a wait if you specified ebony over striped ebony, surely they have enough to go around (at least I HOPE so )

And pearloid is plastic Mother Of Pearl.
Anything that ends in "oid" is fake - pearloid, factoid, that kinda thing

Re: Jackson Stars Translations

I placed an order for a semi-custom SL-J1 in January.

The changes from the stock SL-J1, the prices listed on the semi-custom order sheet (in parenthesis), and what I actually paid are:

Natual Finish: (not listed) 10,000yen
5-way Switch: (8,085yen) No charge
1 Vol, No Tone: (not listed) No charge
Specified Neck Profile: (not listed) No charge

I didn't even have to haggle to get the freebie options. Maybe Mr. Saito at Ikebe was in a good mood that day.

The guitar should be in my greedy little hands in June...

EDIT: I should probably mention that I placed the order in person at the Ikebe shop in Shibuya, and not online, which may have helped in me getting such a good deal.
