  • Jackson PS-4 bridge question-help please!

I just picked up a really clean PS-4 for $130 last week and while doing a setup realized that either the Floyd Rose base plate threads were stripped or the part that screws into the plate (which the tremolo bar screws into) has it's threads stripped.

Since I wanted to replace the bar with a collared version (ala the Schaller Floyds)I need to hear some suggestions as to what can be done.

Has anyone perhaps some Floyd parts that they can suggest for this repair?

The stud may be stripped. The base plate is not threaded.Stewart McDonald or Allparts carry the stud you need.

The base plate is threaded on my JT-500 bridge.

Get in touch with Kevin at Easton guitars, he set me up with the collared bar/housing assembly you described. With this setup it won't matter if the baseplate threads are stripped, since the bar housing is a two piece assmbly.

Much better than the stock threaded bar setup.
