Re: Pro Series SL3 compared to USA SL1?

I HAVE A COUPLE OF THE OLDER SOLOIST PRO XL NECK THRU. I PUT A COUPLE OF DIFFERENT PU'S IN THEM AND I LIKE IT BETTER THAN MY AMERICAN SL1

THE OTHER THING IS THE SL3 HAS HOTTER DUNCAN SINGLE SIZED HUMBUCKERS IN THE MIDDLE AND NECK POSITION VS THE USA SL1 HAS TRU SINGLE COIL PU. TOTALLY DIFFERENT SOUND...

Re: Pro Series SL3 compared to USA SL1?

The whole "Don't buy that, buy a used USA" argument annoys me. Why not skip buying that new Civic that will get you anywhere you want, has fairly low insurance rates, and has a full warranty. Go with this used Porsche instead! It's only a couple of bucks more...

The real question is what do you want in a guitar? If binding and ebony boards are your thing, go with a USA. If not, an SL-3 is perfect. They do feel different than the USA's, but I actually prefer the SL-3's to the SL-1's (doesn't apply to other models, just the Soloists ).
