• Jackson Soloist professional...

After my disillusion for having lost a Rhoads Pro(other topic... ) yesterday I got the auction for this soloist pro:

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...e=STRK:MEWA:IT

And today I went to edgeware to collect the guitar...what to say?Completely original, almost perfect conditions... IT ROCKS!!!

I need a help from you experts: the serial number is J802845, I think it's quite high for being a '94, and you said these professionals were produced until '94...

You sure it's an 8 and not a 0?

I'll check tonight but I think it's a 8 because it's different from the following digit...

I checked...the first digit is definetely an 8...

I'll try to post other pics of the guitar, anyway the conditions are really esceptional, all original and a pair of scratches on the back.

It can't be an '88 Pro AFAIK.
Pickup routes match the 1990 models, as does the ebony board and MOP inlays, and the "Professional" logo on the head.

All I can think is the European markets got a slightly different serialization, or someone was playing with the date stamp.

Re: Jackson Soloist professional...

I thought I had an 8 in a serialnumber too, I was sure, but it HAD to be a 0. So there is definitly BIG confusion between those two.

Do you think I can try to ask Jackson?

I know on the website they just have the serial number chart for USA models, but maybe they know something about it...anybody tried before?

Re: Jackson Soloist professional...

Jackson doesn't do any serial number inquiries or such on their Japanese guitars.

I'm guessing it's either a '90 or '91, since Jackson started putting truss rod covers engraved with "Soloist Pro" on that model in '92. Of course, the cover could have been changed, but that guitar is so minty fresh that I kinda doubt it.

Whatever the case, that's a beauty!
