Hi guys,

This is my first post so I'll make it a quick one:

I've been playing a Performer PS-2 for about ten years now and been very happy with it. Recently I got curious so I started searching thet Net for details and history of the performer range.

While searching about, I could only find PS-2's with a floyd rose bridge but mine has a strat style one....

The headstock of the guitar says Jackson performer and the truss rod cover says PS-2 so I guess the cover could have been swapped from a different guitar but I don't know why....

Anyways, I was hoping someone could help me by answering the following:

1) Where are the performer guitars made?

2) Was the PS-2 ever made with a strat style bridge?

3) How can I track down the history of the guitar (Serial Number 1000216)?

Cheers guys

Chris

Re: Jackson Performer guitars

1. Where WERE they made: Korea & Japan

2. Not that I can find. I think it's always been the Licensed Floyd JT-500. Maybe yours is another PS model.

3. SN starts with 1 so I'd guess yours is a Korean model. Later and current lower line Jackson models were made in India and have SNs starting with 0 or 1; I believe that the early Performers were made in South Korea. Japanese SNs will start with 9.

These were produced from 1995 - 2000.
1995 PS-2 retail: $545
Body: Alder
Neck: Maple
Fb: rosewood

How about some pics?

Re: Jackson Performer guitars

the Performer series were made in Japan and in Korea. The serial on yours suggests that it was built in Korea. Apart from that, the serial doesn't provide any info at all.

The PS2 didn't come with a trad trem, but the PS1 did. Does your have a pickguard?
