  • 2008 Jackson Soloist Model ASL-TNO 1TB - Headstock does not say Stars

    Hi Guys,
I just recently bought this Made in Japan for the Japanese market a 2008 Soloist Model ASL-TNO-1TB. I noticed others that are a few years older have Jackson Stars on the HeadStock. This one does not, even though the paperwork has it listed as the same model. The quality is as good, or better than my USA Jacksons. In fact, its now my main stage guitar. My main guitar was this USA Soloist from 2008 as well. What the main difference is, the MIJ one is heavier due to the mahogany wings compared to the poplar wings on the USA model. Both have a maple top. The MIJ has a fuller tone, and is loud when not plugged in. I'd like to find more information on these. I do have the build sheet.

    Model name: Jackson LTD ASL-TN01
    Year produced: 2008
Made in: Japan (FujiGen / Chushin Gakki)
    Finish: Chlorine-Burst

    Body material: Mahogany (body wings)
    Body Top: Flamed Maple
    Body Shape: Soloist Archtop
    Neck joint: Neck Through Body
    Bridge: Floyd Rose Original
    Tuners: Gotoh SG
    Hardware Colour: Chrome
    Neck type: Soloist Traditional
Neck material: 1-piece Maple with scarf joint
    Scale length: 25½" / 648 mm
    Frets: 24
    Fret size: Jumbo
    Fret material: Nickel
    Fingerboard material: Ebony
Fingerboard inlays: Shark Fin (Mother of Pearl material)
Headstock inlays: Jackson Logo (Mother of Pearl material)
    Weight (approx.): 3.5kg

Here are some photos of both the MIJ Soloist and the USA version made in the same year.

    Nice.
But why does it list two different factories?

I'd like to see how the new guitar looks on the back. Looks really good.

Could you put up a scan or photo of the build sheet?
