Apparently Jackson are bringing out a new Pro plus series with a bunch of archtop guitars and loads of different colours.

1699 euros for a made in china instrument. I know there is inflation but i didnt know it is this bad. That is around 1800-1900 dollars. The parts are good but i dont know how they are going to sell the quality of these. Also i saw they are bringing out some MIJ Charvels that were 1500-1800 dollars on reverb. Kinda feels like they are all over the place with their strategies.

Jeez, that site shows 19 Pro Plus models.

I assume this is a limited run. Like the Wildcard and Concept models. Those were also around that price range. But at least they were Korean. So there may not be much of a strategy involved. Could be FMIC testing if customers will shell out big bucks for Chinese guitars before they move all Pro and X models to China. Or just trying to squeeze as much money out of as little guitar as possible before the year is over. Poor execs, gotta get them bonuses.

When I was adding these to the database last week I wasn’t exactly sure why they were making a new sub category for these things either. Spec wise all I see is standard modern day Pro Series affair, (except Chinese instead of Indonesian) down to hardware and pickup choices. Are they really that proud of the arch top part? Some of the finishes are just downright ugly too on the DK Moderns, which at least had cool that ash look before. (And were Korean)

FMIC must be really proud they're finally discovered the existence of stainless steel frets after all these years. That's the only unusual for FMIC feature.

There is no way in hell I'm paying at a minimum 1200 bucks for a Chinese made Jackson. I'm not about to pay 2200 bucks plus for their MJ series either! They've lost their friggin' minds!
