  • Model & Year Help

    Hello,

I could use some help ID’ing an 8-digit Jackson guitar, possibly (likely?) an import from ‘98 or ‘99. I’m not ruling out that it could be frankensteined in some way, but y’all would know much better than me.

    The s/n is 98xxxxxx (8 digits total).

Although the Jackson logo is on the headstock, it is NOT embossed on the S/N plate where the neck bolts on like some models I’ve seen. ONLY the S/N is stamped in

I’m trying to find year/model and yes, potental value for a friend who says she wants to sell it in her yard sale (I’m not a Jackson guitar aficionado by any means but I was thinking she should sell it outright or on a a guitar site for better return).

Here are the pics she supplied to me:

    Your help appreciated!

Thank you very much for this.

Does MII = Made In India?

What do "JS" and "X" signify?

So JS and X signify type, correct? So the better question I guess is how to tell which from which, and does type determine (or equate to) model?
And what do the last 6 digits of an 8-digit S/N denote? Mfg. sequence?

Cheap entry level Jackson. Nothing I'd own myself but I"m a MIJ and MIM fanboy.

Pictures did work by the way

Thanks! I figured it might be a cheapie, but would still like the info if possible.

                  JS20 Dinky. https://guitarinside.com/Jackson_Dinky_JS20

The JS and X denote the series. X is generally higher tier than JS.
