    Hello JCF!

This evening I have come across this Jackson listed for sale.

The seller claims it is an AT3, but after searching for over an hour, I have found no information, and haven't been able to nail down a model designation for this guitar.

What I do know is that the guitar was made in Japan (96 prefix, 7 number serial), and spec-wise most closely resembles the AT2T (maple neck, rosewood board with dot inlays), but has the Wilkinson vibrato found on the AT1, and Jackson-branded pickups. Further complicating things, I can't find evidence of there having been an AT2 model designation previously, and that is what I think would be the most logical name.

Although I'm super keen on putting an offer in on this guitar because it's different to any other Jackson I've encountered, it has really hit me for six, and I'd like to at least go into the purchase with my eyes open as to exactly what the damned thing actually is.

Any help y'all can give me would be super appreciated!

Looks legit, but I'm not aware of an AT3. Then again, Jackson also put out some models that were never featured in catalogs. Jackson has also been confusing at times with name designations. At one point, models with a T in their name meant they had a tremolo system. Somewhere along the way, the T designation meant tune-o-matic bridge.

Page 13 of the '97 catalog shows the AT2T, as well, but no AT2. https://assets.ctfassets.net/4jcppge...97-catalog.pdf
