I found a 91 dinky std in red with the red pickups, clear pickguard, red knobs, red fret markers.99% to mint W/OHSC.
What would consider a fair price for a minty minty minty one?I'm talking 0 fret wear.Opinions please.

I wouldn't consider myself as a specialist, so I'm referring the Blue Book of Electric Guitars:

Dinky Std's were made between 1991-93 and last MSR was $895. The Book also says that reasonable price for 100% mint guitar is about $625.

My book is two years old, and I don't know how accurate this information is. I live in Finland and I don't really know if these prices are ok or not. Back here guitars usually cost more than this book says, especially what comes to vintage instruments, but Jacksons, Charvels, ESP's, Ibanez etc. are quite close many times.

BTW here's a picture of my newest one, Jackson ATX arch-top, which cost me 340 euros, its about 400 USD:

Re: Dinky std

I think I paid about $350 for mine. Then again, it was at a Guitar Center and the jagoff gave me a peavey case. (better than no case at all I guess)

Thanks guys. The asking price is 550.00 which I thought was high but its so mint it hurts. All case candy even the little bag with extra trem parts.I'm torn.

Hmm...

I used to have one before my Charvel 375DLX...
mine was a 93 made,
I can't say it was bad but it wasn't my thing...
I did like the Clear Pickguard and the neck was very friendly... I bought mine back then a second hand from a guy who just stopped playing...

I'd say it'a a nice guitar... Indeed.

I can't tell you about the price but if you like it enough
and you want to throw in your cash then go for it.

Hmm... I can't believe I installed EMG's on it! that was
really a BAD move! sigh... :/

Cheers!

Are those black dots on a rosewood board?
Weird!
Err.. maybe not.. I just thought I saw black dots.. maybe my eyes were playing tricks on me.

Re: Dinky std

Nope, they're red dots, they're hard to see against the rosewood. The concept behind the Dinky STD is that everything is basically the same color. This means that the body, headstock, pickups, and knobs all matched. There were four colors: black, candy blue, dark metallic red (pictues), and snow white.

Mine was a Candy Blue...

Do you think they aspired it from let's say Ibanez stuff?

Paid $326.82US (including all taxes) for mine two years ago but I don't have it any more. Here's a pic of it:

By the way, what trem is that on these guitars? It looks like a JT590 to me buit I wasn't sure.

Shaller floyd(jt-590)same trem I have on a 93 stone dinky rev.I'm not real sexed out on the pickguard but the dinkys of this period are such fine guitars I hate to let this minty one slip away.

Excellent, thanks for the confirmation about the trem. Definitely a very cool guitar.
