  • New Member with a Rhoads STD

I’ve been gassing for a rhoads for a while, and I finally found one in my local guitar center for a reasonable price! It’s a rhoads std; I thought about getting the white Rhoads pro that was on guitar center used, but this was less than half as much lmao! It plays awesome and makes me excited to play Jackson again!

I used to have a KV1 (whatever the US one is) years ago and found it pretty disappointing in terms of tone. Nowadays when I think back, I think I should’ve just switched the pickups since I have never liked JB’s. It feels good to have another Jackson V now, especially since I like the Jackson pickups! Anyone have any idea what they are? I’d check audiozone, but it doesn’t seem like the table with all the specs on the professionals are there anymore. Also, is this a JT580LP? I normally see the “shoulders” by the fine tuners being more sloped than at a right angle like a JT590.

    Anyway, here’s some pics!

      Congrats!

Yes, that's a JT580LP trem. On Audiozone's tremolo info project page (http://audiozone.dk/index-filer/TremoloInfoProject.htm) there is a photo of the two types of baseplates for the JT580LP (one with square shoulders like yours, one with sloped shoulders as is more commonly seen).

The pickups are J50M and J50N.

Audiozone is slowly being ravaged by time. An archived version (https://web.archive.org/web/20180831...ofessional.php) captures the specs table that used to be there.

An alternate site I use is https://guitarinside.com/Jackson_models which is quite comprehensive but is missing a few models here and there.

Very nice! I always thought the Rhoads Standard was bolt-on like the King V Standard and Kelly Standard, but I guess not.

Nice Rhoads. I too have a standard and Pro. On my standard I fitted it with a jt590 and it works awesome. Just a little gap on the left side of the route. I think I posted a thread on here about it awhile back.
Heres the link on the swap
