    Rookie here needs info on

    hi guys im raoul i come from the philippines
    im new here

    recently acquired a Kelly in a trade with a friend for my King V Kvxmg

    however when i got it it said the headstock GROVER JACKSON!! what a rip off ! the guitar is great playing but looks like i am the victom of a swindle. WTH?

    heres its main features
    neck through
    trans black
    duncann designed PUs of some kind
    HH
    M Vol M Tone
    24 sharkdfin frets
    serial number in last fret is 000783
    floyd rose license

    no indication ob the guitar for where its made

    some people say this guitar is amazing most say ita fake and essentially jacksons version of squier
    and epiphone

    dont knwo much about grover jackson guitars history. i went here coz fender sent me here yyhey have no records of grover jackson brand. said its pre acquisition era

    i really wanted a kelly but when i posted it peopme kept telling me i got duped and suckerd. can anyone help me? a huge mistake if the guitar is a fake

    did my friend rip me off or is Grover Jackson brand fake or not

    The Grover Jackson line were made for the Japanese market.
    The Jackson brand is owned by someone else in Japan, so Jackson used "Grover Jackson" or "Jackson Stars" on the headstocks.
    Made in Japan.
    Quality guitars. Same as the Pro series.... you didn't get ripped off.

      Based on your description and the serial number, it sounds like a KS-95 model made in 2000.
      Trem would be a JT-580LP (Takeuchi). Nice trem for a licensed version.
      Is the hardware brushed or satin chrome?

        whoah really? i thought japo jacksons are clled jackson professional and performerwow thanks sir. how do i post imagess its been long time since i was on a forum? is like to post it so u guys can see and possibly tel me what model code it is identified as

            The Professional and Performer lines are made for other markets.
            In Japan they had to use Grover Jackson or Jackson Stars due to trademark issues with the Jackson name in Japan.

            As for posting an image, you have to host your image somewhere else and post a link to it.

            Just curious to see if it had a hardware change.
            Every one I found through an image search had satin chrome hardware with Duncan Designed pickups.

                              Welcome to the forum. As has been said, the Grover Jackson line (later renamed Jackson Stars) was made in Japan for the Japanese market. It's a nice guitar you've got, so enjoy it!
