  • two sets of intonation holes for the screws. why?

    new member!

i just purchased a used, i believe it is a 98 js20 japanese jackson with the floyd rose. some of the intonation screws are in the front hole and some in the back. why two sets? is it so that after restringing you can't get it to intonate? so, you have to unscrew and move the screw to the other hole??

pictures of the guitar later so i can verify its identity.

    thanks,
    mikeB

floyds have three sets of holes for the intonation screws. if there was only one hole, the saddles would have to be super long and would jut out past the baseplate when the saddles are near the front. each hole encompasses a range in the saddle's possible position. there is some slight overlap between the range for adjacent holes.
