On the discontinued RRMG PRO (IWJ), the real problem is the "black pearl" binding on the neck. The side dots disappear in most lighting making it hard to see where you are. The fingerboard inlays are ok and I don't really look at them while I'm playing.

I actually prefer the alumiloid inlays. They look much better than the plastic fake ones they used to use. I have a pro Sl2Q and the inlays look very sleek. At certain angles it looks like just a blank ebony board which I love. Granted they are piranha inlays and not as prominent as the usual sharkies but, i have a friend with a RRMG and I think they look pretty rad on that as well.

I guess I'm kinda a snob. I don't mind white plastic for dots. But sharkies have to be MOP or abalone.
