  • Slider Switch Replacement

    Ok guys, I got this DKXT model about three years ago. Since then, I needed to change knobs, bridge screws, pickup rings, re-glue some inlays... This time, my switch performs such "bad connection" issue sometimes. So, I want to replace the switch.

    INFO #1: The guitar is equipped with EMG HZ H4&H4A (Passives)
    INFO #2: The pickups are installed in a traditional way (Not the "EMG Solderless" system)
    INFO #3: The switch they used (3 - Way) has this flat shape in the inside (I am going to post some photos)

    I'm thinking of installing something like this:
    -> Dimarzio 3 Way
    -> Fender 3 Way

    Is there a wiring diagram for installing such things.

    I have never attempted to mod the electronics of a guitar before. But I do own a solder gun; so, YOLO!

      Before you replace it clean it. Buy some contact cleaner and spray it in the switch, I use Deoxit D5 Contact cleaner.People replace parts that sometimes don't need replacing. Also check all solder connection and make sure you have no cold solder joints, solder is suppose to be shiny silver and not dull looking. If you need to replace the switch, follow the same wiring that the original switch is using now.

        this might be a little old, but if the electronics are mounted to a pick guard, a regular switch such as the ones you posted will fit. if they are rear-mounted through the wood then you need a switch with a longer lever such as:
