  • NGD JS22-7 M Musicians Friend Special Edition

So, she came today! I have to say right off the bat that it is obviously a little nicer than the standard JS22-7 Satin.

The setup from Musicians Friend is a little crappy as compared to how Crazy Dave's sent the satin one, but there is no fret buzz. Just need to adjust the string height just a bit and the fret ends do have a couple sharp spots.

As with the normal 22-7, the specs from the factory are wrong. The neck is oiled, not gloss whereas the satin one says oiled but is gloss.

    JS22-7 Gloss

Here's the BEST part.........they changed the hardtail bridge!!!!!!!!

    JS22-7M

They sound extremely similar, but the M seems to have just a little more growl........

All in all, for a guy with plenty of high dollar axes....these are great!

AND I PAID LESS THAN $350 for BOTH!!!!!!! NICE!!!!!

    Good job Jackson!
Transitioning from Retired Musician from cover bands to a Full time vocalist/frontman/guitarist in an original and covers band....it's been a while and this should get NASTY!

More growl the the satin one? Wow, I want it. She looks like a much dearer axe.

Nice. I've been thinking of getting one of these cos they're so cheap, even with postage to the UK. But I don't really listen to any 7 string bands never mind actually play along to any of and I doubt I'd write much with one.
        Congrats though, they look great!

Congrats and thanks for sharing pics and comments. Good to hear good reviews about JS, since they do get a bad rap--mostly from people with no experience with them. MF doesn't do any setup by the way, the setup on the guitar is from the factory.

Since they revamped the JS series a couple years ago they've been pretty solid. It's not a USA Jackson, but you really can't beat these for the price.
