That's a Japanese number, but numbers can be swapped. Are you sure it's the original number?
Could be an early RR3 or an RX10D.
Post a pic if you want to be sure.
    96xxxxx, 97xxxxx and 98xxxxx serials oftentimes don't indicate '96, '97 and '98.

I think its the original it dosent look to have been altered the only thing missing is the back plate. I thought it was a lesser Indonesian at first. I'll have to post it when I get home. I also have been looking at a dx10 blue transparent 9852827 standard Jackson floyd. Dunno that its a Japanese pattern number. But can't remember is a dx-10 was Japanese. Sorry I'm rusty

Any 7 digit number beginning with 96, 97 or 98 will be Japanese. 6 digit serials are Japanese also, though some 6 digit numbers are USA.
        96xxxxx, 97xxxxx and 98xxxxx serials oftentimes don't indicate '96, '97 and '98.

OK I thought so I just couldn't remember. 200 the dx10 I feel was a bit more than it was worth. You can normally get Japanese here cheaper so I had to pass. If they don't sell it in a few weeks it will drop more. I'm just cheap and know how to work the store haha

Sometimes a newer DK2 with real Duncans or DKMG with real EMGs can be had for under $300 if you're patient.

Depending on your area, craigslist offers some great deals on MIJ Jacksons. I know a trucker that consistently gobbles up MIJ guitars in the $2-300 range by checking craigslist along his travels. Good luck.
