Did I pay to much for my Jackson Dinky ?

I just bought a Jackson dinky Eerie Dess swirl serial number 9759991 for $400 with a Jackson Hard case, Jackson's aren't very common where I live and I have been searching trying to find what exactly did I buy and is it worth it , thanks for reading .

Nope, that's not too much. The case is worth some coin. You can't buy a better guitar for under $400! Yours was made around 1997 in Japan and is no doubt a great guitar for $400.

edit: I think these guitars should be worth between $175 and $600 depending on condition and options. I'd pay $600 for a DK2 pile of skulls with black hardware in mint condition. I'd pay $175 for one with the headstock snapped off just for the parts.

You didn't pay too much. If the guitar is in good shape that's a pretty good deal considering the case.
The serial suggests made in Japan around 2005-06. Does it have chrome or black hardware?

Actually, Luafcm, there are a small number of '97's with that serial, but I got a little ahead of myself and thought the guitar was listed as a DK2.

The guitars were numbered 9600001, 9600002, 9600003 and so on. The number didn't hit 9700000 until around 2003.
As I mentioned, 97 can mean 1997 on a 90's model.

Got ya, I was under the impression that they were incrementing every year, like 9600001 in 1996 9700001 in 1997.

Thanks guys for the comments ! this thing is lethal so I really didn't care if I did pay to much cause I love it I just wanted to know . So its a 2003 ? and it has Black hardware. The guitar is mint shape like new and it also had a professional installed Distortion booster.

Nah, 2005-06. The black was introduced around '06. The only way to be 100% sure is by removing the neck and checking the date stamps on the neck heel/neck pocket. Numbers can be inconsistent.

All that said...the DK2 first appeared in the '98 catalogue so it's possible it's a late '97 model with black hardware added by a previous owner. BUT, it isn't listed as being available in the EDS finish in '98...though it should be mentioned that the catalogues contain errors so I personally can't be sure if all the '98 finish options are listed.

There are many formats. The 96, 97, and 98xxxxx numbers have 2 different meanings.
The 6 digit numbers are date coded (usually) meaning the first 1 or 2 digits indicate the year depending on the guitar. Your 923297 would be 1992, but some '92's are 2xxxxx.
Your DK2 is probably '05-'06, but it could be late '97 as described earlier.
