  • What is this?

I have a 97 DX2 that has a small bracket mounted on the back of the tuning head. I have no idea why it is there of for what reason. I have looked in catalogs and cannot determine its use. I can post a picture later if necessary. I thought it might be to hold the wammy bar but i don't see how...Thanks.....Cosmo

Its probably an allen wrench holder. If it has two holes, then thats what it is. If it looks like an adhesive plasic thing, its one as well, just a crappy aftermarket one.

Do you mean the allen wrench holder on the back of the headstock? Has 2 small holes in it?

If that's what you mean, 2 allen wrenches can be placed in it for Floyd Rose adjustments.

      If not, post a pic

Actually, it is an Allen wrench holder. I've got one on the back of my Hamer's headstock...

It holds this type of Allen wrench...

            And it fits like so...

P.S. Ignore the dog hairs on my tuning keys!

Actually, it's my '94 Kelly XL, not my M6. I left it there but don't have the wrench for it either. If it was me, I'd leave it till you find one... or just take it off.. or if you really like having the wrenches on there, get one of these.. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Black-Floyd-...item4164786e22

Don't need wrenches mounted to my guitar. May just take it off...thanks.
