  • Need some help

    Dear all,

I plan to buy a Jackson Professional for $400. It has a 6-digit serial# starting with 60, so I guess it was made in 1996, in Japan. Could you guys help me to identify exactly what kind of Jackson Pro is that. There's only 2 pics, here:

Eladó egy megkímélt Dzsexon Professional.HSH Jackson hangszedők,Floyd rose dupla satus vibrató.Made in Japan.Csere nem érdekel.

Is that a good one worth buying, or already a lower-quality?

    Thanks in advance!

Thats looking like a mutt. Somebody put on an ofr and added a middle or re-routed the neck for a humbucker.

If i couldnt play it first, i wouldnt buy it, but thats just my opinion.
I'm going to give you the keys to the Lamborghini

Of course I'll play it first.

I thought that might be DX2 (some of those were made with hum-single-hum), but someone told me it was not. I was also told that it was a great guitar and it is absolutely worth buying, as it's a Professional before the Fender-era.

      I'm not sure though.

Waiting for more comments, thoughts on this.

Yeah, no doubt, it looks damn hot, baby.

But! Do you guys think that it might be a high quality Japanese Jackson Pro, or a "mutt" (by TKEblue, above)?

You mustnt confuse a professional series with a high quality Japanese pro young grasshopper lol. Although the professional series are great guitars you must know the difference. I personally dont know much about that model I think toejam owned one at one point if im not mistaken. If you havent already, visit here http://audiozone.dk/index-filer/jack...ries_1990-1995

The high quality PRO's came with Schaller trems, ebony boards, mop inlays, binding and are neckthru's(with a few exceptions)

But to answer, I dont think its a mutt. Looks legit. as to it being worth $400, well you just have to play it and answer that for yourself.

Edit- also tkeblue is wrong. The trem is a jt580 original. Its not an ofr.

Looks like a JT580 trem to me but not a LP version.
Neck is MIJ judging by the 12 fret dot markers
Not sure about the serial number Ron should know about that.

It honestly looks like a PS4 body with a pro neck on it. Look at the pickups. Unless they are the old covered typed with the covers removed they would have screw poles in the pickups not slugs.

Almost but the ps4 has a straight single slot and not the little cutout in the middle and I dont think they had jt580's but I could be wrong.

Heres a pic of the dx2 and there are no screw poles. Just slugs.

Yup you are right. I was thinking they put the 580s on em later on. I'm not Jackson history guy. The pickup rings are flat too which is a plus. A bunch of little things dont seem right. The mix of black and chrome screw would make me believe not the original electronics in it.
