  • NGD maybe Sunday, need help

I will probably have a chance to pick up a 90's king v standard in a trade for my MIM Strat. The V is in very good shape. It has some light nicks on the points which isn't bad for a guitar of that age. Does anybody know much about these models? Seems like a good deal to me. Btw it says professional on the headstock. Thanks

Even being the Professional line, I've found them to be great guitars. Personally I would make the trade. I haven't owned a KV but I did own and RR in the series and was extremely happy with it. The only reason I don't still have it is I've come to like non-trem guitars more, but that's just personal choice. I'd say wait to make your decision until you can physically get your hands on it and see how it feels to you. That should be what seals or breaks the deal.

Well I agreed to the deal. I am the owner of a King V standard Professional in gloss black. It's a little rougher than the pics showed, but oh well, it's from the 90's. The neck is seriously thin. I love it. I thought my DK's had thin necks. Not. And the Bridge humbucker just says Jackson on it, but it's g0t a nice crunch. Even at gain set about 6 on my Dark Terror. Seems like a good deal, already played it more than the MIM strat. I'll send pics tonight.
