  • NGD Again! Is this a JDR?

I am not sure what I got here but its a Jackson Professional SN 9639395. I believe its a JDR due to its HSH pick ups, maple reverse headstock neck, and 24 frets. Its going to need a good set up but it plays nice as is. Not bad for taking a shot an eBay.

This is a PS4 Performer. Essentially the same as a JDR although I like the JDR better (finish and quality). The JDR will have Concept written on the headstock. This one says Performer.

Wow, it would help if I actually read the headstock. LOL - The kid listed it as a Pro and I couldn't read it in the auction so I took his word for it. Then when I got it I just took it out of the case, plugged it in, played it, and took the pics. Thats why I was confused because I read about the PS4 but thought it was a Pro. Thanks for pointing out the obvious.

I had a blue transparent PS4 and I loved it. Good score.

My JDR didn't say Concept. It's been awhile, but I know it said Performer on it and had the JDR-94 Truss rod cover.

Interesting. It was my understanding that all JDR, JDX and JSX models were in the Concept series.

Truss rod cover could have been replaced.

My stealth has an Anarchy truss rod cover, obviously aftermarket. I will get a picture of the two blue Jackson's and my blue Gunslinger together when the Stealth comes back from its set up.

Doubtful, I bought the guitar new. Traded an Ibanez EX and $200.00 for it and a gig bag.
Wish I had a better pic.

OP, is the trans top wood or a photograph?

Trans Blue top with black on the back side. It's what attracted me to the guitar. Its a good cousin to my Trans Blue Stealth in my other post.

Yeah, the trans finished ones are nice. I had a red one. The only weak point on them was the trem, cheap schaller copy made of soft material. But It should be fine if youre not a huge wammy guy or change strings often. I replaced the screw in bar on mine with a new socket and bar like the schaller.

Its a MIJ Performer so thats a + good score!
The top is a thin veneer.
                          Really? well screw Mark Twain.

I bought a JDR in 1994 in black with the dual rail pickup in the bridge and the standard bucker in the neck. Mine said Professional on it. Not sure what the truss rod cover said. Great axe. Wore the frets almost flat.
