It's very easy to bond with a Jackson neck. That's why a lot of us are here. 
There's not a whole lot of difference (IMHO) between your guitar and the KE3, especially if you swap out the pickups.
I'd say keep it and enjoy it. Not a bad price on a decent guitar in fantastic shape.
snake_pearson, my very first "decent" guitar was a Kelly JK20, which had the unbranded JT-500. It's exactly the same, just the spot where "Jackson" is typically stamped is just a blank oval.
