DKMG neck - so shave or not to shave?

The DXMG has a great neck. When I first brought one to a luthier for a setup and pickup change he thought it was worth $1,000.

I just bought a "new" '09 DKMG and the neck feels so much better than the old '05 version I had. Did Jackson change the specs?
