god, I hope not. Who gives a shit about the wellbeing of all those people effected by it, as long as guitar production remains unaffected?

Lol Don't lose your shit. He didn't complain or anything like that. To be honest, it's a good question.

I don't know much either. I heard that the Chushin Gakki plant is in Nagano prefecture and that would put it in a mild zone on the west side on the island. I imagine that EVEN if the plant wasn't damaged or anything, that production will have still suffered to some extent because people are affected. Either indirectly or directly. Like family, or sometimes just things like waiting for materials to arrive and bla bla. The Japanese are industrious and do pick up quickly despite their hardships. I'm sure they are doing their best to keep it together because production means money and that is vital for everyone out there.

        Yeah, no shit.

The nation's reeling from the shock and horror of having so many dead they can't bury them all, and the ever-present threat of nuclear devastation. Do you really fucking think anyone cares if the next batch of Jacksons and Charvels gets out the fucking door?

A lot of people are concerned about the situation in Japan so it would be nice if Jackson would post an update on the workers and the factory over there. Ibanez did so I don't see why Jackson can't.

man I sure hope this earthquake thing dont mess up the production of TVs, DVD players, etc.... I mean we might have to go back to beta and VHS machines.

I think Japan has alot more important shit to worry about than some guitars being built.

I mean these poor people dont know if they can even drink the water there.

                      wow......what a thread.

I say Jackson does if they want to stay in business. And I'm sure the workers there would like to still be able to earn a paycheck and provide for their families in this difficult time. I'm sure if you lived in an area that had an earthquake. That you'd hope your job is unaffected, or would you say who cares if you've lost your job in your profession?

If I lived in an area that was affected by an earthquake, I'd want to ensure that my family is safe before I worried about going back to work. I'd also want to be damned certain that my workplace was safe too. If it came down to it, I wouldn't think twice about relocating and taking a job emptying garbage cans before I unnecessarily risked my life & that of my family to make another guitar so that it can sit on a shelf unpurchased for a year.

In the end, the production of guitars (a luxury item) is nought compared to the value of these people's lives.

You are making alot of assumptions as to the Jackson factory having a radiation problem. Or that there is a risk working in the Jackson factory in Japan. I guess Japan might as well shut down as an economy for a while. Sure this is an immediate problem, but it can also turn into a long term problem as well. Better to get back on your feet as fast as you can.
