  • JT580 Trem bar

I've been looking for an answer on a replacement bar for three weeks now. There was a couple of threads on here but the hyperlink is no longer valid. I'm fairly sure that it's not an LP and a Schaller OFR doesn't fit...

Dislcosure: It's possible that it may fit if I anchor it somehow from the back. Either way I need some help.

The schaller piece will work....all you have to do ise buy it with the insert too. I takes all the guess work out of it.
    It's pronounced soops

Go to Stew-Mac and get the bar and collar.

      Done.

Did that...The ID is too big even coming from the back. The Schaller Blueprints show a threaded "knob" and I have an almost flush nut with smooth walls. The insert that came with it (Schaller OFR replacement from stewmac) doesn't fit.

I got one of these for my DK2M. Worked like a charm. Fits nice and snug. IIRC, they are made by Ping.

Try this guy. The bars, like the one Marnold linked to, fit perfectly on my DK2M and KE3. Seem to be the same bars as the Jackson branded trem versions.
I don't know if you need the same one as Marnold said, but you can ask the guy in my link, he's a good guy.

              It ain't happening....

The Takeuchi JT-580 block prevents a schaller trem bar from working, also, the "nut" that is spot welded to the base plate does not work with a schaller arm. The guys at Ed Roman's said that this issue has arisen quite a bit and you can only get a Takeuchi arm with a guitar. so I'm done messing around trying to modify the Takeuchi and getting a German OFR. I'm spelling it out for anyone who may get into a similar situation down the road. Thanks anyways!

Did you look at the link I posted? Or was I way off with what I thought you were talking about?

Ed Roman probably knows best anyway....

The bar I linked to works just fine with a JT580LP. I bought one. It's on my DK2M. It works great. Really. Honest.

He has an older 580 trem. A Takeuchi JT580 is not the same thing as the newer JT580LP.
