  • Jackson Soloist SL3

    Well mine arrived yesterday.

For the past 2 years I have been playing a SLSMG (Satin Black)
    and I love it.

The time came for me to purchase a new axe.

After much looking round and comparing etc...

Finally decided to stick with Jackson, read many a story on here about comparisons between the SL1 and SL3 and as I live in the Uk where prices are somewhat much higher than in the states, The most cost effective solution was to buy an SL3.

Before I purchased I tried out an SL2 which had the neck and playability I was looking for, yesterday the SL3 landed and to me plays much better.

When you buy a Jackson you are Guaranteed Satisfaction.

    That is all.

    Cool.

I've seen the RR5's are starting to get neck binding. Does your SL3 have binding? That's the biggest deal breaker for me, other than the fact I'd probably go for a used Soloist Pro instead.

      No Binding.

When I have it plugged in the last thing I am going to be thinking is "this guitar would be better with binding"

If I was just going to look at it then maybe I would want binding too.

I've been thinking the same thing about binding lately. Plus it's one more thinkg go wrong with the guitar (cracking, splitting, coming loose).

Yeah, that's right. My car doesn't have power windows either. lol

I like the look of binding but prefer the feeling without. I had a 550xl that had some of the edges roller, if felt great!

It's funny you say that. the last time I bought a used car my wife said that she would never get power windows because they always break. The 2 driver side windows broke a month after buying the car so I sent 3 years without being about the open the windows.

Power windows in my wife's 2003 Tahoe went out. First the passenger ($600), now the driver ($4 duct tape).

LOL I don't have power windows either. My old car had power windows, but the driver's window would sometimes go halfway up and stop, then sometimes it would work again after waiting a little while!
I also like the look of binding neck, but I don't care whether a guitar has it or not.

I did, the positive comments on here are what swung the desicion in the first place and a well made decision it was.

                      Thanks

Sweet myspace man, I dig it! I gotta say, your bio is a bit over the top, I'm not hearing anything other death metal bands didn't do years ago, but what you're doing is really good. Nice playing, and more importantly, good songs.
