    OFR for model 6

    I know this has been asked before but I have a question that wasn't answered.

    I'm going to replace the JT-6 on my Model 6. I know it needs a 42mm block but I'm wondering about the locking nuts. Do I need to change them or can I keep the ones from the JT-6? Does it matter? What size nut should I order it has a bunch of options I thought it was 42mm but one is 42.1 the other is like 42.9 so ??? I'm confused.

      I'd leave the JT-6 locking nut at its place....

        Why are you buying a speedloader? They are junk, you MUST replaced a nut then and also buy special made strings for speedloader trem (=expensive). Very complicated.

        And you don't have to change the locking nut, but if you really want (which I don't suggest), you must take it to a pro luthier to do the modification of the current nut and build a sheld for the OFR locking nut.

        Also the above store has really expensive OFRs, I suggest you buy one from this guy:

        Lowest prices on the internet, I bought one from him and couldn't be happier! And ask him if he has any 42mm blocks, he had them when I asked .


        www.fretsonthenet.com <- this is guy is a member here (Budman68) and he makes replacement parts for JT6 and it's locking nut made out of better steel. He will also make you a stud for the OFR that will fit in your JT6 bushing so you don't have to remove those (which is very hard).

          oh I wasn't going to buy that one it's way to much I'm just wondering what nut/radius this thing is.
          I'm just going to keep the original locking nut I'm not drilling holes in this for a new one. I'll check that dude out thanks.

            that guy has no more 42mm blocks

            Where can I find a 42mm block or can I use the one from the JT-6? I'm probably going to have a tech do this but I want to buy most of the parts so he can't charge me for them.
