1986 Model 4 Charvels did have dots ! But they did NOT have a pickguard ! Only Model 1 and Model 3/3A of that period had pickguards - but they had a 5-way selector switch, not 3 minis !
that is an original Model 4:

But as the seller quoted in his description: In 2004, he put the pickguard along with new PUs on !
So, modified Model 4 - I would say.

He added the pickguard, which is a shame. Yes, it's a Model 4.

That's a lot to pay for a model 4 you probably could have gotten M6 for that or less.

...M6 aren't better or worse than M4s. Just different guitars. I for one prefer M4s by far.

I like how the pickguard looks, but I would like it more if it was plain white and not pearl white.

M6s are two frets better than M4s.

I like my neckthru Charvel a lot. But I wouldn't give up any of my bolt-on Models just for a neckthru.

guitorture, I like it. It looks like very tidy example, and the pickguard works on it. It'd be cool if the pickguard hadn't been added, but then, my Model 2 would be cool if the neck single hadn't been added too. But what you gonna do? It still looks like a great guitar

I think it's partly going that high cos of the Lindy Fralin singles. Those pickups can get expen$ive.
