  • Can anyone help ID this one?

    Hi -

I was going to pick up this guitar for my son.
I was happy to find this board but I can't find a reference to
    this model.

    It's a Charvel, S/N C606148, Hum/Single with a Floyd-licensed trem.
Looks like a set-neck but I guess it could be neck-through...
Can anyone help me out as to what a good offer would be?
It's in good shape and plays nice...

    Much Appreciated!

A Few more details (try 3)

      Sorry, a couple more details...
(I took photos but am not allowed to attach them)

The logo is "guitar-shaped" Charvel (tm) by Jackson/Charvel),
Strat-ish body, 3-way switch with master volume / master tone.
      Hopefully this helps..

      Again, Much Appreciated!

Interesting that it has a 1986 serial number (C6...) but has a licensed Floyd. The '86 neckthroughs had Kahler trems. Things like this pop up once in a while, and I think someone (Shobet, I think?) has a guitar with an '86 serial & JT-6 trem, iirc. Your description sounds like a Model 5FX, though, which was only made for '88. Does it look like this:

A Sam Ash had a Purple Model 5 (dual hums) for $399 asking price. Not sure if they play the "case not included" game.

I think in the $400 range with case would be fair.

            Thanks all!

Yes, DG, that looks like the one...
It's cream-colored with the "brick" humbucker
            (coils not exposed)

The seller's asking $200, sounds like a deal!

            Thanks again!!

$200 is a steal! Grab it quick, but make sure you don't play it or you may have a hard time handing it over to your son.
