  • Original specs on Model 88

I've learned quite a bit about this guitar from the forum, you all are great!
    3 questions:

What is the original pickup that came with this guitar?
Someone put an EMG 85 in it, it sounds good for my old metal style,
but I would like to know about what came with it.

Is this a mahogany fingerboard, or just a very dark rosewood?

I have pictures around, will not repost here until I get better ones.
The guitar is in very good condition.

Is the fact that someone added a tone control devalue it in any way?

I would not be surprised if the original owner is a member of JCF, there were
several interesting guitars that came into my long-closed store. One was a Dr. Feelgood graphic, another was a Mighty Mouse Kramer that Eric Earnst has, a stealth hx pro, rico mockingbird, jem tree of life, to mention a few.
The 88 is one I kept for myself when I liquidated. Other guitars were consignments or trades.

Pretty obvious reply I think. To inform him that there is one for sale if he might be interested in that. Edited the wink so I don't upset anyone else...

Think they would sell me just the J95 pup off of it? That's all I need (I think, still don't know for sure...) :ROTF:

Something looks strange about that mahogany.
And the damage on the rear upper bout is a lot more than
                  "a couple of dings"

It's African Ribbon Mahogany. Some of them had more of the ribbon figure to the wood than others.
