  • What body wood in a Model Series

I thought it was alder, but then I saw basswood. A mix thru the years maybe?

I've always heard the bolt-ons were all basswood with a couple of exceptions like the trans-finished Model 7s (ash), and the Model 88 (African Ribbon Mahogany, iirc). Neckthroughs were maple neck w/ poplar wings.

So, plain color Model 7s are made of basswood?

              Basswood, according to the catalog:

As for the solid color Model 7s, I've always heard they were basswood, but I've never seen the specs in print.
