Re: Model 5a ?????

Thanks Budman! You got me blushing here. Believe it or not, "Poor Ol' Me" was recorded using a cheapo Yamaha SGV-800 through a POD running a Blackface Fender Deluxe Reverb patch. Good old Guitarist CD backing tracks. Where would I be without them? Learning how to run a drum machine and buying a bass guitar for starters!

Back to the Model 5A. I found it NOS in a shop in Bangkok in 2001. Unfortunately they had lost the whammy bar and the OHSC long ago. It cost me 11,000 Thai Baht, which sounds a lot but isn't

I've not played it out yet. It's a bit too pink & pointy for my current blues/jam band gig!

        Cheers - Steve

          Re: Model 5a ?????

The catalog I have says the PLAIN Model 5 had two J80C's, but MY Model 5 {a 5, NOT a 5A - an early 86 Kahler equipped unit} has 2 ACTIVE Jackson pickups, and my REMAINING 5A has a J95...

My model 5A is all original and came with the 95. I have pics but cant host. If someone could post I'll send em on out. It is pearl white and is pretty much mint.

Hey Steve, I just listened to some of your music and it sounds great. "Poor ol me" sounds a lot like the old Steely Dan type of lead work. Love it!

Well I thought I should get a pic of my project up so you could at least have an idea of what it looked like. I sat a OFR and a J90BC to use in my graphics program to try different paint schemes and graphics. Not sure what I'm going to do yet but these are a perfect "blank" canvas for graphics ideas.

                                I have 2 5A's and 1 5FX. They came originally with J95's(as did Model 88's).
