Charvel 2002, no mention of Live Wires that I can remember.

    Model A

They are right before the Model A Plus in the 2002 catalog

There is a blue quilt and a black one.

I bought an A+ in late 2003 from Easton...
It was a beautiful natural, and the earlier mentioned specs seem right - ebony board, H-S-S Semour Duncans, Licensed Floyd...pretty good guitar. I'll see if I have any pics and try to post

If you play metal it is the pickup to use.

You'll have to use almost half volume to get a clean sound out of it.

I'm at a loss as to why more metal players don't use it.

I'm going to take the whole metal set out of my Natural Model A and put in some Dimarzio's. The metals are just way too much for what I do.

Willcutt guitar shoppe Richmond Ky has one with the live wires. There Lexington Ky shop has one with regular Duncans.
Check their web site.I just checked and the don't list J/C but they are a Jackson dealer. Both stores still have these two Charvels last time I was in there. They have had them since 2002 I'm sure you could do a smokin deal.
                  Really? well screw Mark Twain.

my son has a MOdel A+ pro and I got a Traditional

                      recently on E-bay.

you can sometimes steal these on E-bay ( if you can find them).

My son's A+ is just black with 24 fret neck. I really liked it when I got it from AMS on a closeout a couple years ago.I paid $358 for it shipped. No pics yet but I'm trying to get my son to bring ot over to put it on the photobucket thingy.

The traditional I got a couple months back for a measly $238. It came in a Charvel box with the tags....looked brand new, original shitty strings even ( they're still on, I need to get on that).

here's a link to some pics:
