  • Charvel Pro Mod DK24 HH HT nut replacement?

New guy here although I've played and owned Jackson's and Charvel's since I was a kid. I want to order an upgraded nut from GraphTech for my DK24 hardtail instead if just having the stock nut slotted for 10-52's. Have any of you guys gone this route and if so, which option did you go with? Thanks!

Slot the nut, is it made of some unobtainable precious material?

nuts are wear parts, wear it out and get another.

Seeing as how I haven't been able to figure out what the nut is made out of after looking all over the inter, emailing Charvel and watching countless videos on youtube i'd rather replace it with a material I know well as I've had the GraphTech black tusq nut on several guitars. Just never a Charvel. I'm upgrading the saddles as well but I guess I should probably wear those out to than worry about intonation and tuning stability? lol

The nut is plastic. Either have it widened for the thicker strings or replace it with whatever other material you want.

It could be compressed cow dung, it really doesn’t matter despite what the internet “experts” say.

          Same with the saddles...
